ART

The Art curriculum is sequenced to provide students with spiralized foundations of skills and knowledge, enabling them to conceptualise and make creative works; including drawing, painting, sculpture, and graphics, with the intention to empower students to aspire to create art/design for a local, national and global platform.

The department's vision is for all students to become confident to create original ideas and style by celebrating their artistic endeavours and building self-belief. We will provide learners with a varied knowledge of artists and designers, modern and traditional techniques and processes so they are able to identify and access their strength to visually communicate and express themselves to reach their fullest creative potential.

Our curriculum develops personal development through creating a ‘I can’t… yet’ mindset. Learners are taught how to use critical thinking, problem solving abilities and resilience to maximise their individual creativity process. Students will recognise the place of art and design in supporting wellbeing and as a vehicle for expressing and understanding thoughts, feelings and relevant social issues.

A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others.
