CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship studies gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of democracy and government, the law, rights and responsibilities and how we live together in society. The specification encourages students to think critically, evaluate evidence, debate ideas, make persuasive arguments and justify their conclusions. The study of citizenship also gives students the opportunity to take responsible citizenship action on issues that they are passionate about thereby playing a positive role in public and democratic life as informed and active citizens beyond the classroom.
