MUSIC

To deliver a broad and engaging music curriculum that builds upon prior knowledge from Production Studies and KS2 Music, as well as introducing new, key knowledge in correspondence with the national curriculum for music. Students will strive for excellence by learning technical skills such as how to use industry standard software to create music. Students will look at the ever changing music industry and how it has adapted over time. Students will learn how to play an array of instruments in a constructive environment including; Djembe and Ukulele honing in on key musical theories such as using traditional notation to create original compositions both in ensemble groups and as solo musicians. Students will learn to play with expressive flair and build an understanding of key musical genres and styles, developing a critical ear for music.
