SCIENCE

Science provides students with the knowledge and skills to understand and explore the world that they see around them.  The intent of our curriculum is to:

1. Provide students with knowledge on the big ideas of science which include 10 fundamental aspects that equip pupils with the essential understanding of the world around us. 
2. Give opportunities for students to do what scientists do meaning they develop skills that allow them to investigate hypotheses which can be applied to wider questions in real world situations. 
3. Develop cultural capital where students are well prepared to be positive contributors to society and can find solutions to problems whilst challenging the ways in which we have always done things.
